2022 Annual Communication Agenda

THINGS THAT EVERY DELEGATE SHOULD KNOW

Note – All events and activities will be in Cedar Rapids at the Cedar Rapids Marriott, 1200 Collins Road.

Registration – Credentials will be open from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Friday, and 7:00 A.M. on Saturday located in the Pre-Convention Area.

Meal Tickets – Will be available for pickup 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Thursday, 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Friday located in the Pre-Convention Area.

Thursday, September 15:
The Annual Grand Lodge School of Instruction will begin at 8:00 A.M. in the Grand Lodge Room located in the Hickory, Birch and Aspen Rooms. D.L. School One will be in the Dogwood Room; D.L. School Two in the Chestnut Room and the Craft School in the Elm Room.
The Memorial Service will be included with the Necrology Service on Friday.

Lunch will be on your own.

Grand Master’s Fellowship Banquet
Social Hour is at 5:00 P.M. in the Waterfall Terrace.
Grand Master William W. Post and his Lady Tammy invites Masons and their ladies to join them in Oak, Elm, Chestnut, and Dogwood Ballroom at 6:00 P.M. for the “Grand Master’s Fellowship Banquet.” During the banquet the T. S. Parvin Award and Teacher of the Year Award will be presented. Following the banquet, all will be entertained by “Girls Night Out”.

Friday, September 16:
The Annual Communication will open in the Grand Lodge Room at 8:30 A.M.
Lunch is being provided by the Iowa Scottish Rite Bodies in the Center Ball Room at 12:00 P.M.
The election of the 2021-22 Grand Lodge Officers will be the first order of business in the afternoon session.

The All-Masonic Banquet
The Social Hour is at 5:00 P.M. in the Waterfall Terrace.
The All-Masonic Banquet will be in the Oak, Elm, Chestnut, and Dogwood Ballroom at 6:00 P.M. All brethren and their ladies are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Following the banquet, the silent auction winners will be announced followed by the Installation of the 2022-23 Grand Lodge Officers in the Grand Lodge Room.
Grand Master William W. Post and his Lady Tammy will host a reception following the installation in the Rosewood Room to honor the newly installed officers.

Saturday, September 17:
7:00 A.M. to 8:30 A.M. Breakfast provided by the Iowa York Rite Bodies in the Hotel.
The Grand Lodge Communication will resume labor in the Grand Lodge Room at 8:30 A.M.

LADIES’ INFORMATION AND PROGRAM

All Ladies’ events will be at the Marriott

 Your donations of baked & home-canned goods and Silent Auction items will support St. Florian Miracle Burn Camp.  We encourage you to purchase some treats and to bid on some delightful items that have been donated for this years’ Silent Auction.

Wednesday – September 14

 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.  – Ladies Hospitality Rosewood Room will be open to receive Silent Auction items and baked & home-canned goods. 

Thursday – September 15

 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. – Ladies Hospitality Rosewood Room open for registration. Silent Auction items will be available to bid on.  Baked and home-canned goods will be available to purchase.  Enjoy visiting with friends as you come-and-go throughout the day.  Goodies will be arriving all day, so be sure to come back regularly to check on your auction bidding and to enjoy a treat.

  Lunch will be on your own.  

 2:00 P.M. – Program “Tips and Tricks on Baking”.  Have you been baking for your local First Responders?  Get some new ideas and maybe a recipe or 2, and continue to share your treats with family, friends, neighbors, and of course First Responders.  This program will be in the Rosewood Room.

Friday – September 16

 9:00 A.M. – Ladies Brunch in the Rosewood Room.  This brunch does require pre-purchase of a ticket.  Our program will be by Megan Wichmann, a member of the Cedar Rapids Fire Department. 

  Necrology Service (in Grand Lodge Room) will follow the brunch.  All ladies are encouraged to attend.

 12:00 to 3:00 P.M. – Rosewood Room will continue to be open for visiting.

Saturday – September 17

 8:30 to 10:30 A.M.  – Continental Breakfast hosted by the 2021 – 2022 Grand Lodge Ladies.  Pre-purchase of a ticket ($5) is required for this.  This will be in the Shrine Hospitality room on 2nd floor (not the Rosewood Room).  This is a  casual come & go breakfast.

Special thanks to our Co-Chairs for Ladies events – Carol Mosier & Denise Gehling.  Kathy Bowersox once again is handling the baked/canned-goods tables with her ever present smile.  We appreciate all 3 of you wonderful ladies!
